The Solar Empire Satellite Weapon (simply referred to as Satellite Weapon) is an ancient super-wepaon constructed and used by the Solar Empire to destroy Lord Ferrok's Iron Tower, and with it, his terrifying Iron Legion.
Story
It is never specified when exactly the satellite is made or launched, but it is fully operational by the end of the Lightning Wars, and is still fully operational even after 300 years of lack of use.
Battalion Wars[]
As Kaiser Vlad elaborates on the Iron Legion to Countess Ingrid, he briefly mentions the Legion's destruction at the hands of the Empire.
Battalion Wars 2[]
Following a series of crushing defeats at the hands of Lord Ferrok's Legion, Empress Qa-Len sent a Strike Battalion with a Staff Bearer among them. His role would be to bring the Staff to the Iron Tower and activate it, allowing the Satellite Weapon to fire and bring it down. When the Battalion falls to a Legion Bomber, the Staff Bearer dies with it. A nearby Grunt soon takes up the Staff, its power allowing him to reap Legion forces like grain before the scythe. With the help of some surviving Grunts, the new Staff Bearer takes the Staff to the Iron Tower and deploys it.
Receiving a signal from the Staff, the satellite unfurls a fan-shaped array at the rear end, gathering the light of the sun before sending a blast of light into the Iron Tower. The blast renders Lord Ferrok and his Legion dust, with a burst of light that forces Qa-Len to avert her gaze from its radiance.
While the Legion's demise is no small cause for celebration, Qa-Len was ashamed at the sacrifices she made to destroy them, and feared what the Staff's power could drive men to do. So she took the Staff to the frozen wastes of Tundra, and cast it into a crevice, where it would hopefully slumber forever.
